Knowing When NOT to stockpile

I'm twitching as I write this. I've always been a saver- a pack rat even. I'm better than I used to be but..you just never know when you might need it!! *whine*

Right now, there is a deal at Target on Body Wash. You can take the BOGO coupon from the 5/1 Redplum insert and print 2 $1/1 Target Coupons off the website. Since Body Wash is on rollback for $3, that makes your transaction come out to 50 cents per bottle.

I'm twitching you guys. I'm feeling the itch to run to Target!

However...we have plenty of body wash. No, we have more than plenty. It's taking over our lives. I don't NEED more, Tim doesn't NEED more and good bodywash deals are a dime a dozen.

Sometimes, you have to stop yourself and realize you're one giggle away from dropping off the cackling edge and completely losing your mind. Will we run out of bodywash before another deal comes along? Never. Is it a good price? Yes. Is it a unique price? No, not at all.

Does it make sense to spend $1 now when I don't need to and could possibly get more body wash free in the future? Ehhh I guess not :(.

You sometimes have to stop yourself, mid-deal and ask- Do I need it? Is it a never-repeatable deal?

A friend was mentioning that she saw Extreme Couponing and one lady had 3 years worth of toothpaste stockpiled. I have three tubes. I'd like to have more, I'll be honest, but three years worth? That will end up going bad, or else she'll have to donate it. While donating it is great... you have to remember, you do still pay tax on those items in most states (NC is one... tax is often more than my merchandise total).

Don't let stockpiling take over your life, even though it can be tempting. Right now, I'm going to estimate we have over a year's worth of body wash- not including the free samples. I think that is enough for a while. After all, I have to have room to store my shampoo stockpile! :D.
