DIY- Remove smells from Tupperware

You know that sometimes even after it is washed, Tupperware or plastic containers will hold on to smells of previous foods- not awesome if you had fish in it last time and want to put cake in there this go round.

A VERY cheap and eco-friendly way to deal with this problem is this:

Wash the container, then crumple up a few sheets of newspaper and put them in the container. Seal it and let it sit for a few days. Then, simply open the container up, recycle the newspaper and rewash the container.

Voila. No need to go out and buy more :).

  1. That's awesome. Some of ours smell strong from various foods being put in it. Got any ideas on how to remove red stains like from spaghetti sauce?
